Blogger Terms of Service Changes

I'll just copy and paste the email I got.

We're writing to tell you about an upcoming change to the Blogger Content Policy that may affect your account.

In the coming weeks, we'll no longer allow blogs that contain sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video. We'll still allow nudity presented in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts, or where there are other substantial benefits to the public from not taking action on the content.

The new policy will go into effect on the 23rd of March 2015. After this policy goes into effect, Google will restrict access to any blog identified as being in violation of our revised policy. No content will be deleted, but only blog authors and those with whom they have expressly shared the blog will be able to see the content we've made private.

I'm not fully certain what they mean by "expressly shared" as opposed to just going to my blog's link as usual but I guess we'll find out until the time comes.   I was thinking about using tumblr but I like the little chat window we have on the side, although I bet with some manipulation of HTML I could probably squeeze that into tumblr too. Or I could use amazon services and make my own webpage as a nice learning experience depending on their ToS and all that fun stuff.
I posted a new release on said tumblr just as a test run, it's stored in the archives too.

Also I have attracted the attention of a couple other artists, not directly mind you but I've had a good amount of my posts reported and taken down.  So if you're wondering why X artist's post/work is missing it's probably because of that.

  1. Well I don't understand what they mea too, perhaps you have to authorize the members like in the closed for members blogs :?¿?
I prefer wordpress or livejournal than tumbrl, but look for the one that Iy's better and more comfortable for you :)
Thanks a tousand for the new release :***

  3. Really interesting. I wonder what will happen with MyReadingManga, because they host on their own, but are using Blogger Image Servers for nearly all pictures on their site.

I would recommend You wordpress. Its kinda easy to export your blog to them and they have nice features, like the automatic spreading of blog posts on Tumblr and Twitter.
They allow "mature content" but not pornography, not sure how difficult it would be for you. An independent alternative would be a self-hosted wordpress for like 5 bucks/month.

  4. I'd recommend WordPress or LiveJournal too; I had my blog taken down by tumblr, for uploading a picture taken out of a doujinshi and linking to the scanlation group. Tumblr is better when it comes to customizing though...

  5. Yeah, I'd recommend a WP blog as well. What you're talking about right now isn't the first time I've heard of google bloger doing this......seems like this exact same thing happened a year or two ago and resulted in a number of hentai scanlation groups moving back then. I've been posting assorted hentai content (images/releases/download links) on a number of my WP blogs for around three years now and have never heard the first word from WP :D

  7. That's who are the creators of this horrible censorship

  8. Hey Leon, take a look:!category-topic/blogger/jAep2mLabQY

They decided to take what they said back!

  9. Whatever happens I hope you don't disappear - I love your translations.

  10. I also prefer LiveJournal too. Try it out.
